Kein Geringerer als „The King“ Elvis Presley saß hinter dem Lenkrad dieses goldenen Cadillacs. Am 28. Dezember 1967 tauschte die Musik-Ikone bei dem Händler „Madison Cadillac“ in Memphis seinen 66’ Olds Tornado gegen diesen 68’ Gold Cadillac Eldorado. Elvis nutzte den Wagen daraufhin für fast ein Jahr als sein Alltagsgefährt, bis der Cadillac eines Morgens nicht anspringen wollte. Daraufhin zog er eine Pistole und schoss dem Wagen in den rechten Kotflügel. Zum Glück war der Schuss für das Fahrzeug nicht „tödlich“. Elvis schenkte daraufhin diesen Cadillac seinem Stiefvater Col Beaulieu. Nach dessen Tod gelangte das Fahrzeug zu einem Geschäftsmann, der es in einem Restaurant in Australien ausstellte. Im Jahr 2000 brachte ein amerikanischer Sammler und Elvis-Fan den Wagen zurück in die USA nach Kanada City. Seit 2015 bereichert der Cadillac die ChromeCars-Sammlung.

None other than „The King,“ Elvis Presley, sat behind the wheel of this gold Cadillac. On December 28, 1967, the music icon traded his 1966 Olds Tornado for this 1968 Gold Cadillac Eldorado at the Madison Cadillac dealership in Memphis. Elvis then used the car as his daily driver for almost a year until one morning the Cadillac wouldn’t start. He pulled out a pistol and shot the car in the right fender. Fortunately, the shot wasn’t fatal for the vehicle. Elvis then gave the Cadillac to his stepfather, Col. Beaulieu. After Beaulieu’s death, the car passed into the hands of a businessman who displayed it in a restaurant in Australia. In 2000, an American collector and Elvis fan brought the car back to the USA, to Canada City. Since 2015, the Cadillac has been part of the ChromeCars collection.
